Where the Wild Things Are
The story of a little boy who is sent to bed without supper and his imagination takes over! He travels to a far off land (where the wild things are) and he becomes their king. Over time though he misses his family and comes back...to a hot bowl of soup :)
I would use this for a second grade classroom to illustrate how the author and illustrator use pictures and words to get their points across and to get them to create their own stories.
